Welcome to a deep look at the area Emilio has called home for the past 12 years. Emilio brings you a specialist tour of an area that you might not otherwise visit as a tourist. What I like about tours like this is that you get to look at architecture & notice things that you just would not do if you walked around on your own. Although Emilio's specialism is architecture & design, he also brings alive lots of history in the area, both old & recent. Emilio will show you some excellent maps of the wider Madrid & this really helps provide useful context to the Lavapiés area that you then focus on for the rest of the visit.

This was a particularly informative experience with both the intricacies of the development of the locality and the general historical background that describes the establishment of present day Madrid both eloquently presented. One does not find guided tours as comprehensive as Emilio’s every day. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour if you’re into architecture. Emilio really know his stuff. Showed us some cool places — a hipster bar in a former XXX theater, a printing press museum, MCM furniture shops — that we would have never found on our own. He also shared some good recommendations via email afterwards. A+
